Lake Crabtree

This morning we headed to Lake Crabtree, in Cary. We started off at the fishing pier, and came up with nothing but a pair of  Pied-billed Grebes. Next, we headed to the main trail where the parking lot was just crawling with birds. We got our FOY Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. Throughout the morning we saw about 65 American Goldfinches. We also got our FOY Palm Warblers. We did get one lifer, a Hairy Woodpecker! We also saw Song Sparrows, FOS White-throated Sparrows, and some Eastern Pheobes. Overall it was a productive day with 3 FOYs and one lifer! The last pic is the Hairy Woodpecker.
